风鸡炖红枣 ( Fēng Fī Dùn Hóng Zǎo)

Dried salty chicken has a very strong salty flavor, it is super tasty and delicious, you can easily make it at home. This recipe simmers the salty chicken with red Chinese dates to add another layer of rich fruity flavor. The red Chinese dates are super soft and tender with its subtle sweetness.

1 homemade dried salty chicken12 red Chinese datesA few slices of ginger1 green onion (why buy from store? grow your own green onion)Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Servings: 2

Cooking Steps
1. Add 3 cups of water to a medium size pot, boil the water.
2. Get 12 red Chinese dates, rinse briefly under running water, add to the pot.
3. Add a few slices of ginger, 1 coarse chopped green onion to the pot.
4. Get 1 homemade dried salty chicken, rinse clean under the running water, add to the pot.
5. Boil the chicken, then turn heat to low, cover the pot (may leave a small gap to let the air come out to avoid spill), simmer for 45 minutes.
6. Take out the chicken, let it cool down at room temperature.
7. Cut the chicken into thin slices, place the red dates around it.
